Certified translation in Cape Verde
When an embassy, a university, a court or a civil registry asks for an "official" translation, it needs more than a good translation: it needs a certified one, prepared by a qualified translator and formatted the way the receiving authority expects.
Documents we translate
We translate personal documents such as birth, marriage and death certificates, identity documents, criminal record certificates, driving licences and medical reports; academic documents such as diplomas, transcripts and syllabi; and legal and business documents such as contracts, company statutes, court decisions, financial statements and tenders.
Certified for where it will be used
Requirements differ from one country to another. Some authorities accept a translator's certification, others require a notarial certification of the translation, an apostille, or consular legalization. Before we start, we confirm what the receiving authority expects, so your translation is accepted the first time.
Paper or digital
You receive a signed and stamped translation, with a PDF copy by email. Originals can be sent by courier anywhere in Cape Verde or abroad, or collected.
Frequently asked questions
Is a certified translation the same as a sworn translation?
The terms vary by country. In some countries only a sworn translator appointed by a court can certify; in others, a professional translator's certification followed by a notary or apostille is required. We prepare the translation in the format that the destination country accepts.
Can you translate from a photo?
Yes, a clear photo or scan is enough to prepare the quote and usually the translation itself. Some authorities require the translation to be attached to the original or a certified copy; we will tell you if that is the case.
Do you translate Cape Verdean Creole?
Yes. We translate from and into Kriolu, for example for recorded statements, letters or messages used as evidence.
